“I did see it! The Duchess visits the High Priest!”
Alistair leaned on the wall and listened to the gossip flowing inside the temple. He had been hearing the same story for a while now—that his mother had been frequently in the High Priest’s bedroom. It seemed stupid to gossip about, as he knew better that his mother had some self-respect.
He had also made her realize that his father loved her from the start.
There wasn’t a chance that she would be frolicking around, visiting the High Priest at the strike of dawn. He would never believe such gossip, but he did listen to the knights—and the second that they told the same story, he didn’t know what he would do.
“Cliff.” He called, looking back. “We should visit my mother’s knights to confirm.”
