Roseanne never realized what she had.
Her old life had always been centered on her sister, enough that they didn’t give her any time of day to fully digest what she had been living in. After disregarding their cries, she was slowly coming to terms with how her life had changed. It took her a while to know that the only person who had control over what she could and couldn’t do—was her own self.
Marianne paused, looking at the Duchess in a distance. Everyone was surprised when she began to dismiss her work to attend to Alistair’s needs. On some days, she would pick to work in the garden just so she would take a glimpse of the child. It was different, but Marianne was glad that everyone is seeing her kindness.
