Chapter 6: Let Me Go!

“LET ME GO!!!” I squirm hard and start pushing against his chest. “NOW!!!”
I flail my arms around as I try to hit him. He instantly traps my arms in his and holds me close to his chest. “NO!!!”
The three hunters who were following me, come to a stop just in front of the one who is holding onto me. They all seem to freeze in his presence and I have no idea as to why.
“Hunter… That prey belongs to us,” Johnson states. He is firm, but I hear a hint of fear in his voice.
“Really, Johnson? Because from where I’m standing, she belongs to me. I’m the one who caught her.” His voice is smooth, calm, but he sounds like he is daring the others to try and take me. I feel my heart race in my chest as I continue to squirm in his arms. Tears are springing to my eyes as panic starts to overtake me. I hear something rumble low in his chest as he leans down and rubs his covered cheek against mine. “Behave, little bunny. You don’t want me to drop you right now. Trust me. These big bad wolves will eat you alive and there won’t be anything I can do to save you.”
I stiffen in his arms at his words. I feel my breath catch in my chest as I look up into his gold eyes and all I can do is think of what has happened to the others. I just hope Victoria was able to get away.
“Are you done playing with your food, Hunter? We would like to get a bite in too,” the unnamed one smirks. “Because of her, the three of us have lost out on a solid chance with a hot blonde bimbo with the twins.”
I knew they were twins!
The one they call Hunter seems to growl. “She isn’t one you get to have a bite of, Williams. She is mine, and I won’t be giving her up that easily.”
I feel his arms tighten around me possessively as I gasp. I turn my face away from him and try my best to hide my fear. Is he going to rape me just like the others did to their catches?! Am I next to lose this stupid Christmas Hunt!?!
I sniffle softly as the tears start to flow down my face and I feel Hunter stiffen.
“Come on, Hunter! She’s just a stupid girl! Share the hunk of meat like the rest of us and get on with life!” Smith yells, but I don’t think Hunter is paying attention. I hear the snow crunch behind us as he approaches. “Would you give her up already!”
I feel him grab my shoulder and try to pull me out of Hunter’s arms, but something strange happens. I hear a growl. A real growl came out of Hunter and the hand that was on my shoulder is no longer there. I hear a loud snap and then Smith screams out in pain.
“Touch what is mine again and I won’t hesitate to kill each and every one of you.” He is panting, hard, and I can’t help but hear his heart beating in his chest. Something is off. Something is completely different now than what it was five minutes ago. I feel like even though he is going to rape me after all of this is over with, he isn’t going to pass me around to the others, which is a silver lining if I do say so myself.
Smith screams out in agonizing pain as he falls back into the snow. “You f*****g bastard!!! SHE’S JUST A f*****g GIRL!!!”
Hunter growls again. This time he is louder and scarier than the time before. “SHE IS MINE!!!”
I feel my breath catch in my throat at his words. He is… Claiming me?
The other three hunters seem to have gotten the message that he doesn’t intend to share me with anyone, let alone them. They all start to back away slowly in the direction that they came from. I give a small sigh of relief as I watch them go, but it is quickly replaced with fear again as Hunter picks me up and throws me high over his shoulder.
“NO!! PUT ME DOWN!!!”
He starts walking in the opposite direction of the warehouse and I feel panic start to sink in. “LET ME GO!!!”
I kick and scream and pound on his back with my fists, but it doesn’t do anything. Tears slip over my eyes as I struggle in his arms. “Please… Please let me go…”
He stops suddenly and drops me onto my feet. He moves and pins me to a tree using his body and my tears start to flow freely.
This is it…
