CHAPTER 42 Najud sat alone in his kazr that night, the darkness held at bay by a single hanging lantern. He’d done what he could to settle the newly rescued survivors. Khizuwi and Jiqlaraz took the lead in trying to help banish the illusions they saw, and several of the first group were surprisingly effective, too.
