It was a normal day

How long have we known each other?” He asks, slowly rubbing each knuckle with his thumb. “Eight years,” I muttered softly. His heat was soaking into my skin slowly, a bit of mind-numbing pleasure breathed out an even breath. “I always thought you were strong hearted, with a strong will and always went after, whatever it is you want, you’re a fighter.” He breathed, letting out a laugh that was soft. “I think your bravery is inspiring, and your brightness is infatuating, and I have never met someone so captivating. With your golden eyes and your brown curls, the way they bounce around you like it is alive, your stunning.” I started to gap at his words, looking at our hands, not able to look him in his eyes. How is it that I can survive so much, yet he says things, does things, little things that make me feel like a girl with giggles and butterflies in my stomach that make me feel giddy. I suppressed those feelings to think for a second, but I could not stop my lips from curving ever so slightly, “Pretty words are just that pretty words.” I said in an even tone, then paused and looked at him, his eyes staring at me. His face looks like it is shining and the pink aura around him is making it hard to breathe. I blink once it’s there, twice it’s smoke pink, three blinks it is gone. I sigh internally, “However, if you want to try actions, speak louder than words, so prove it but slowly.” I laugh, “I get jumpy.” He smiles, a slight chuckle comes out, he kisses my knuckles, softly brushing his lips against them. My phone started to ring ‘Come little children’ from Hocus Pocus, meaning it was Ellie. She talked about how Emilio had found a ring and good to go but wondered for a little while longer because she had more shops to go to. Ellie was having a blast as we went into pretty much every shop in the mall. It was about seven in the afternoon by the time we finished at the last store. Ellie soon had her arms full of bags and evidently so did I, but they were all good sales and I still didn't go over budget, so, I was fine with how today went. Trevor stuck with us through all the stores. He was showing how attentive he could be. It was overwhelming at first, Emilio disappeared a few times for preparation materials. We head to the car when it starts to rain hard out of nowhere. "Okay, I'll go get the car you guys wait here." Emilio says before running out to his truck. I feel sorry that we had parked so far. We were silent for a moment listening to the rain fall. For me, it is a second of peace, nothing can hear me, and nothing can see me. It's only the rain. I take a deep breath of the crisp air, closing my eyes, slowly opening them as I exhale. When I open my eyes, my throat closes on me, my breath caught, the pale man is here right in front of me about six cars away staring at me. I can't turn away his eyes have me in a trance that I cannot break, the temperature starts to drop fast every breathe I take starts to feel like ice in my lungs. I started to move, but my feet stuck to the ground, knowing I should look away, but I couldn’t, or at least I couldn’t until he started to move closer and time froze. At that second, the rain stopped mid fall the silence echoed around me like death. Yet when he took another step, the rain started to follow again, the sound of traffic and living beings interacted, panic rose in me, a flash happened and time stopped again. This time I look over at Ellie, who is motionless in an extremely unhuman way. I almost ran to her when I reached out, noticing that I was still able to move. Confused, I looked around. Trevor is motionless too, but it was different from Ellie where his eyes are closed and twitching slightly, hers are mostly open like when you pause a movie mid-scene. I looked back at the pale man, he had stopped from taking a step he was going to take, he smiles smiled, raising his head up. I shifted to follow his gaze but saw nothing. I was about to look away when I thought I saw something, it was like a flash of black in the gray sky. I try to focus my eyes on that area to spot whatever it was again, but then I hear a scream from somewhere, unable to place where it is coming from. I start to look around, I hear it again my heart starts to race. The awful cry was as if it was all around me, my heart broke like its echo the sound, it was a man's voice. That much I know. The pale man I realized was nowhere in sight but the cold still in the air. I looked around franticly to try and spot anything of the battle. Trevor groans gains my attention but doesn't move. He sounded like he was in pain but showed no signs of injury. Panic rises in my throat. I know I must do something. I take my necklace hidden under my shirt Gigi gave me after the hell of my first day here. It is said that the necklace protects me from spirits and that it has powers to help channel my energy and create magic. I clench the pendent, focusing my energy on the pale man. Even if I can't see him, I know he is here. I pleaded in my head for the magic to work. The next second, a heat wave, generated around me then out it was like a wave over the ice-cold weather. The last thing I remember is blackness.
