The King's expression hardened as he regarded the interruption. I felt Lara squeeze my hand and gave her a small smile, quickly returning my focus to the unfolding scene before me. "Very well, send him in," the King sighed, his tone hinting at annoyance. As the messenger stepped aside, I wondered what Prince Alex had to say, which was so vital that it couldn't wait.
