CHAPTER 102: TELL ME WHAT'S GOING ON WITH YOU.
EVERLY:
I gripped across my shoulders when we came out in the open. The weather was cold and it made me shiver a little.
Normally, Kaelan would have either pulled me closer to himself and wrapped his arms around me or would have given me his jacket to protect myself from the chill night air.
But he did neither of these.
The forest was silent, except for the sound of an owl in the distance. The trees swayed in different directions as the wind played with their leaves.
Kaelan suddenly looked at me as if he just remembered that I was there.. “Are you cold?”
I didn't bother to answer. Even a blind man could see that I was cold.
He tried to touch my arm, but I withdrew it from him. “Don’t touch me.”
He shrugged and turned his gaze away.
