“You’re going to give me more power,” Lila said calmly, but her voice was cold. “Right now.”
The sorcerer shook his head. “I can’t. You’ve already taken too much. If you take more, the darkness will take over you. You’ll lose who you are.”
“I don’t care,” she said, stepping closer. “Give it to me.”
“No,” he said firmly. “I won’t be part of this. I won’t help you destroy yourself.”
