Final Betrayal

I thought I knew pain. I thought I understood suffering. But nothing could have prepared me for the horror of what was to come. I was scrubbing the floors outside the dining hall when I heard the screams. High-pitched and panicked, echoing through the corridors. My body tensed, my heart racing as I looked up, my blood running cold. It was the Luna... Guards rushed past me, their faces pale with fear. Servants whispered in hushed voices, their eyes wide with terror. I stood frozen, my heart pounding as dread curled in my stomach. “What happened?” I asked one of the maids, my voice trembling. She looked at me with contempt, her lips curling in disgust. “The Luna... she’s been poisoned.” My blood turned to ice, my body going numb. Poisoned? But who would dare...? “Ella!” Mira’s voice cut through the air like a whip, cold and furious. I turned, my heart sinking as I saw her marching towards me, her eyes blazing with rage. “You filthy rat! What did you do?” I took a step back, fear clawing at me. “I... I didn’t do anything...” She slapped me hard across the face, my head snapping to the side, pain exploding through my cheek. “Liar! You served her breakfast this morning! You must have poisoned her!” My heart stopped, my blood running cold. I had served the Luna’s breakfast... but I hadn’t touched the food. I’d only carried the tray. “I... I didn’t...” I stammered, my body trembling. “I didn’t poison her... I swear...” Mira’s eyes narrowed, her face twisted with hatred. “You think anyone will believe you? You’re nothing but a lying thief. You’ve always been jealous of Lila... always causing trouble...” I opened my mouth to protest, but before I could speak, strong hands grabbed me from behind. Guards. Their grips were like iron, their faces cold and merciless as they dragged me through the hallways, my body twisting as I struggled to break free. “No! Please! I didn’t do it!” I screamed, panic flooding my veins. “I didn’t poison her! I swear!” They threw me to the floor in the main hall, my body crashing against the cold stone. Pain shot through me, my ribs throbbing as I looked up, my vision swimming. Kaden stood before me, his face pale with fury, his eyes blazing with anger. Lila stood beside him, tears streaming down her face as she clung to his arm, her body trembling. “She tried to kill me!” Lila sobbed, her voice breaking. “She was always jealous... always hateful... I should have known she would do something like this...” I stared at her, my heart shattering. How could she lie so easily? How could she be so cruel? “I didn’t... I didn’t do it...” I choked out, my voice cracking. “I would never... I swear...” Kaden’s eyes were cold, his jaw clenched as he looked down at me with disgust. “I knew you were trouble the moment I met you. Weak, pathetic, a burden to this pack.” He took a step closer, his voice low and furious. “I should have thrown you out when you first came here. But I gave you a chance. I showed you mercy.” My heart sank, my body trembling as his words cut through me like knives. Mercy? He had rejected me, humiliated me, beaten me... He had turned me into a slave...! “You repay my mercy by trying to kill my Luna?” His voice was cold, his eyes filled with contempt. “You’re nothing but a traitor.” “No! Please... I didn’t do it... I would never...” I begged, my voice breaking. “I... I loved you...” His face hardened, his eyes flashing with anger. “Don’t you dare speak to me of love. You’re nothing but a lying, conniving snake. I should have killed you when I had the chance.” Pain tore through me, my heart shattering into pieces. His words were like poison, each one twisting the knife deeper. “I sentence you to exile,” Kaden declared, his voice echoing through the hall. “You are banished from this pack. You are no longer one of us. If you ever set foot on our land again, you will be killed on sight.” My blood ran cold, my body going numb. Exile. No... No, he couldn’t... “Take her away,” Kaden ordered, his face cold and merciless. “Make sure she never comes back.” The guards grabbed me, their hands like iron as they dragged me to my feet. I struggled, my body twisting as I fought to break free. “No! Please! Don’t do this!” I screamed, my voice cracking with desperation. “I didn’t do it! I swear!” But no one listened. No one even f*****g looked at me.... I was nothing. Less than nothing... They dragged me through the courtyard, my feet scraping against the ground as I kicked and screamed, my voice hoarse with terror. I could hear the whispers, the taunts, the laughter of the pack members watching me fall. “She deserves it.” “Murderer.” “Traitor.” They threw me out of the pack’s territory, my body crashing against the cold earth. I looked up, my vision blurred with tears as I saw the iron gates slamming shut, the guards standing watch, their faces blank and indifferent. I was outside. Alone...and it was terrible... I struggled to my feet, my body trembling as pain shot through me. My wolf was silent, her presence a faint whisper at the back of my mind. She was dying... just like me. I turned back to the gates, my heart breaking. “Please... don’t leave me here... please...” But no one answered. No one cared. The pack had turned their backs on me. Kaden had turned his back on me. I was nothing. Just a weak, broken girl, exiled and abandoned. I fell to my knees, my body shaking as tears poured down my face, my heart shattering into pieces. I had lost everything. It seems I was truly and utterly cursed by the moon goddess to live a miserable life....
