The Plan Unravel

1000 Words
The Alpha’s eyes locked onto her, his gaze darkening as he took in her broken form, her bruised face, her trembling body. His jaw tightened, his fists clenching as a dangerous growl rumbled through his chest. “You dare attack on my land?” his voice was cold, deadly, his power washing over them like a wave. “You dare touch what’s mine?” The rogues’ faces turned pale, their bodies shaking with fear. They tried to run, but the Alpha moved faster than lightning, his form blurring as he struck, his claws tearing through them with merciless precision. Within moments, the rogues lay dead at his feet, their bodies broken and lifeless. The Alpha turned to her, his eyes softening as he knelt beside her, his hand gentle as he touched her face. “You’re safe now... I won’t let anyone hurt you again.” Ella’s vision blurred, her heart racing as darkness closed in. The last thing she saw was his face, strong and fierce, his eyes filled with anger... and something else. Something that looked a lot like hope.... ----- Lila paced back and forth in her room, her hands clenched into fists, her jaw tight with anticipation. It had been days since she sent her men to finish the job, days since she ordered Ella’s execution. Why hadn’t she heard anything yet? What was taking so long? A knock at the door broke through her thoughts, sharp and urgent. Her heart skipped, a cold smile curling on her lips. Finally. She composed herself, schooling her face into a mask of innocence before she opened the door. The rogue she hired stood there, his face pale, his body tense with fear. “Well?” she demanded, her eyes cold. “Did you do it?” The rogue swallowed, his hands trembling as he avoided her gaze. “We... we tried, my lady... but...” “But?” Her voice was dangerously low, her eyes narrowing. “You were supposed to kill her. You were supposed to make sure she never came back. How could you possibly fail?” He flinched, his body shrinking under her furious glare. “She was weak... nearly dead... we had her cornered...” Lila’s lips curled into a satisfied smirk. “Good. Then why is she still alive?” The rogue’s face turned white, his voice shaking. “He showed up... The Alpha of the Shadow Fang Pack... he killed my men... saved her...” Lila’s heart stopped, her blood running cold. The Alpha of the Shadow Fang Pack? He was the most powerful Alpha in the region, ruthless, merciless... untouchable. “He... saved her?” she whispered, her voice trembling with disbelief. “Why... why would he save her?” The rogue shook his head, his eyes wide with fear. “I... I don’t know... but... he called her ‘his’... he said she was his...” Lila’s vision swam, her body swaying as nausea rose in her throat. His? What did that mean? Why would the most powerful Alpha in the region claim a weak, worthless girl like Ella? Her hands shook, fury boiling in her veins. It didn’t make sense. None of it made sense. Ella was nothing. A nobody. She was supposed to die in the wilderness, alone and forgotten. Not end up in the arms of an Alpha... A powerful Alpha... Lila’s chest tightened, panic clawing at her. If Ella was with the Shadow Fang Alpha, then she was safe. And if she was safe... She would come back.... “No... no, no, no...” Lila whispered, her body trembling as she staggered back, her mind racing. This couldn’t be happening. It wasn’t supposed to end like this. She had been so close. So close to getting rid of that pathetic little rat. So close to finally securing her place beside Kaden. But now... everything was falling apart. “You... you failed me!” Lila screamed, her eyes blazing with fury as she lunged at the rogue, her nails raking across his face. “You were supposed to kill her! You were supposed to make her disappear!” He stumbled back, blood dripping down his cheek as he fell to his knees, his voice trembling with terror. “I’m sorry! I tried... please... have mercy...” “Mercy?” Lila’s lips twisted into a cruel smile, her eyes gleaming with malice. “Why would I show mercy to a failure?” She turned to the guards standing outside her door, her voice cold and merciless. “Take him away. Make sure he suffers.” The rogue’s eyes widened with horror, his screams echoing through the hall as the guards dragged him away. Lila stood there, her body trembling with rage, her chest heaving as she tried to steady her breathing. Ella was still alive. And now, she had the protection of a powerful Alpha. This was far from over. But Lila wasn’t about to let some pathetic weakling ruin everything she had worked for. If Ella was with the Shadow Fang Alpha... then Lila would just have to find another way to get rid of her. She couldn’t let Kaden find out the truth. She couldn’t let Ella come back. No matter what it took... Ella had to die.... ----- The Next Move Lila sat at her vanity, her fingers trembling as she brushed her hair, her mind spinning with fury and desperation. She had underestimated Ella. That frail, pathetic girl had somehow survived... and worse, she was now under the protection of the most feared Alpha in the region. How could this have happened? How had that wretched orphan managed to escape her carefully laid plans? She stared at her reflection, her eyes darkening with hatred. No. This wasn’t over. She wouldn’t allow it to be over. Ella still posed a threat. If she found her way back... if she exposed Lila’s lies... everything would be ruined. No. She couldn’t let that happen! She must die....
