He stood in a flash, towering over them. “You had one job!” he snarled. “One job—to bring her in!” The warriors flinched but stood tall. “We’re sorry, Beta. She vanished near the eastern ridge. The shadows swallowed her.” Lucian swore under his breath, pacing. “Inform the Alpha.
