I waited in the car for over thirty minutes. I needed to make sure that neither Eli nor Everett expected us to be together. If they caught onto us, we would most definitely be in danger. I looked at the clock to see that Ash and Everett would've been in their meeting for nearly twenty minutes already. My phone hadn't buzzed indicating that something was wrong, so I tried to take that as a good sign. Perhaps Asher was right, and I was just overthinking. However, as my stomach began to twist once more, I couldn't help but doubt that something was wrong.
