I couldn't figure out where I was at first. It took me a while to get my bearings to figure out that I was in a hospital. Though where exactly, I wasn't too sure. But at the moment, that was the least of my worries. I tried to open my eyes. As whenever they were closed I was continually haunted by the images of the past. Every time I closed my eyes, it felt like I was right there. Trapped below the surface of the freezing water, unable to catch my breath. I could feel my skin prickle as the cold took over. Even though I could tell I had somehow made it to safety, my mind didn't seem to get the same memo. Continuously plaguing me with the trauma I'd experienced. It was like watching a movie on a never-ending loop. Though in my case, I wasn't in control of the remote.
