The gunshot ricocheted of the door just as the figure ducked just on time to narrowly escape my aim. I've never missed my mark in the past, so find myself quite surprised that someone managed to avoid my bullet.
"Mariposa!" I hear the familiar voice from earlier, making a tear break lose, as the voice alone sends a series of emotions erupting within me.
"H-Hunter?" I call out, not sure if I heard properly.
"Soy yo, mariposa. Puedes retirarte." It's me, butterfly. You can stand down. Hunter's familiar voice calls out.
Hunter hesitates for a moment before inching around the door to make sure I'm no longer armed before inching further into the room.
"H-hunter? Is it really you?" I call out, not quite sure I was believing what I was seeing.
