Harris’ Point of View
I can’t help but to smile as I recall the sight of Bella and her mother having fun together earlier in the center's garden. My heart feels so light after seeing Bella finally having the break she deserves. I know she had been put into several circumstances where she had so much stress and things to worry about. It’s such a relief to finally see her enjoying at her heart’s content. She looks so free from everything that has been causing her struggles.
Her laughs and giggles sounded so sweet to my ears, and I can’t be happier for her. But even though I am genuinely delighted to see her enjoying her time, something in me hurts, particularly in my heart. I don’t know how to coin it, but I think it’s plain jealousy mixed with longing and regret.
