The whisper still echoed in my head long after it faded into the trees. “Tell him… the moon remembers.” I didn’t move. I couldn’t. The forest was quiet again, but it wasn’t peaceful. It was too still, like everything around us was waiting for something. Jax’s hand was still on my arm. His grip was tight enough that I could feel his heartbeat through his skin. “What did they say?” He asked again, his voice low and tense. I swallowed hard. “They said… the moon remembers.” His brows pulled together. “The moon remembers? What the hell is that supposed to mean?” “I don’t know.” I whispered. “But they said tell him.” “Tell who?” I looked up at him. “You.” Jax frowned deeply, confusion flashing across his face before something else — something like realization — flickered behind his eyes
