It’s been a year.
A full year since Sage disappeared.
And every day since then has felt like a blur.
I wake up thinking of her.
I train until my body gives out, trying to push away the guilt that I let her go.
And every night I fall asleep wondering if she’s alive.
When she left, it tore a hole through me that I haven’t been able to fill.
I’ve searched everywhere. Town to town, city to city.
Zack and Hazel have been with me the whole time.
They didn’t give up when I almost did.
But now — finally — I think we’re close.
Zack found a lead. A waitress who used to work at a place called Benny’s Diner, who looked exactly like Sage.
Same eyes. Same voice.
But she quit days ago and disappeared again.
