**THIRD PERSON POV** Sage’s breath came slow and shallow. The world around her was still trembling, light and darkness shifting like oil and water, struggling to stay apart. She floated in the middle of it, not standing, not falling, but suspended between what used to be real and what should never have existed. Her body ached, her heartbeat echoing through the silence. When she finally opened her eyes, the Veil came alive in color. It wasn’t gray anymore. The air shimmered with streaks of blue and silver, alive with the faint hum of unseen energy.
