The packhouse had finally gone quiet. Down the hall, laughter and footsteps had faded into silence, leaving only the hum of the wind outside. I led Jax into my bedroom and I closed and locked the door behind me. When I turned to look at Jax, he looked just as nervous as me, but the look in his eyes also burned with anticipation and longing. The faint glow of the moon slipping through her curtains.
