Act 3 : Episode 8 - The Numbers Part 5

[SHIN JIN POV]

“We can’t do anything about it, it was based on chance”, Chan said.

“Yeah, she is too boring that I won’t have time to deal with her”, I replied.

“Well, five more puppets to go, let’s proceed to the next one!”

“Okay, Roll in the next one!”, I ordered.

“Initiating selection!”, Min Min responded.

The rolling starts, “Agh, I don’t want to get another old woman”, I grunt.

“She wasn’t even that old”, Chan commented.

“She is old okay? She is in her 40’s”, I said.

“’40s is not that old Jin, what are you even implying? So when you get to the age of ’40s, will you call yourself an old man?”, he said and I gaze at him with my slanted eyes.

“Of course not, even in my 60’s I will be as young as I am today, handsome and sexy”, I said.

“Haha aha, you are being funny again, that was a good joke aha ha ha ha”, he mocked me.

“Whatever, I just don’t want an old woman as a puppet, once is enough”

“Then go select now and let’s find out the face of the next one”, Chan said.

“Stop the roll!”, I ordered.

“Please be a good one!”, I yelled.

The rolling has stopped and I stood up out disappointed and angry, “What!? Another old woman!? I just said that I don’t want one! Ah this system is trying to test my patience!”, I yelled and smash the cane on the floor.

“Ho no no no, calm down Jin, what happened to your “Do not judge a book by its cover”?, we haven’t even seen her profile and background yet, let’s be angry again if her profile isn’t satisfying, I mean look at her she gave the rich and dominant woman vibes”, Chan said.

I tried to calm myself down and breathe slowly, I stood straight, fixed my tie, and sat back on my chair. A servant pick up the cane and gave the cane back to me, I took it and she bowed her head then left.

Chan snapped his fingers and a servant came right away, “Give us a pitcher of Ice cold lemonade”, he ordered.

“Right away, Sir Chan”, the servant responded and went to do his order.

After a while, the servant came back and Butler Ko took it from her then she bowed. Butler Ko poured a glass of cold and refreshing lemonade, “Here you go, Master Shin, it will help youtube calm down”, he said.

I took the glass of cold lemonde and sips, “An ice cold lemonade always makes me relax”, I sighed out of relaxation.

Butler Ko poured another glass of lemonade, “Have some, Sir Chan”, he gave the glass to Chan.

Chan receives it, “Thanks Butler Ko”, he drink the lemonade with class, “haah! That was indeed refreshing, it feels like I was my mind brand new!”, he said.

Butler Ko took the glasses from us and handed it to a servant to put it away.

“You’re feeling better now right?”, Chan asked.

“Yes, let’s continue”, I replied.

“Okay, let see her profile”

“Woah, we caught a big fish. I never dealt with a gang organization before, this might be fun!”, I stood up as I shout in excitement.

“Uhmmm Jin, isn’t it dangerous to handle with them, you know they are known for extreme violence?”, Chan said in a low tone.

I turned my back and grabbed his shoulders, “That’s what makes it more fun! Imagine taking down a gang organization, it will be a new experience of extreme thrill!”, I was filled up with vigor, my eyes widened.

He removed my hands and toss it, “Your crazy”, he grinned.

“I am crazy!”

Chan sighed and wrap his arms then look at me, “Okay, but I already told you they will be hard to handle, even the korean police cannot do anything”, he reminded.

“Of course, I know the danger! Ha ha ha! This will be fun!”, I said as I raised my cane up high.

“Okay, okay, let’s just see her details”, Chan said.

I nod my head for response and sat back, “The profile Min Min, quick”, I ordered.

“Reading profile . . .”, Min Min responded.

“Black Tiger? Isn’t that the gang organization Baek Sun Oh was previously in”, I asked.

“Yes, that’s right”, Chan replied.

“Then does that mean Baek Sun Oh and Seo Mi Ja might have know each other, I mean Baek Sun Oh was known to his organition, they must know each other right?”, I was fascinated and excited.

“Yeah, I guess so. maybe they do know each other”, Chan was baffled too.

I chuckled, “I wonder what will be their reaction when they meet each other again on the day of summoning?”, I was excited.

“That will be rough”, he smiled.

“We better checked her background out, Baek Sun Oh was former member years ago, they might have missed each other”, I crossed my legs.

“Then, let us see her background”

“Min Min, show me her background now!”, I ordered.

“Yes, Master Shin!”, she responded.

“They definitely know each other for sure, Seo Mi Ja has been in the organization for years too”, I c****d my head.

“They do for sure”, Chan replied.

“I cannot wait to see their reaction face to face!”, I was hyped.

“Well, you got an old woman with interesting background details, she will be a tough puppet to get her strings cut too, she has a whole damn gang organization behind her back, it will be hard to bring her down”, Chan said.

I smiled with the adrenaline rushing in my veins, “No hesitations needed, Select Her!”, I order as I raised my can then point it unto the big screen.

“Registering . . .”, Min Min responded.

“Seo Mi Ja has been registered as Puppet # 10, the Peacock Pupper has been selected!”, Min Min confirmed.

“Ocha, another great puppet onto the collection!”, I gripped hard on the cane.

“Four more puppets to go Jin, let’s continue getting the exceptional ones”, Chan said,

“No time to waste! Roll in the Next One!”, I ordered.

“Initiating Selection!”, Min Min responded.

“I want to play with someone who is versatile”, I said.

“Talking about versatile, isn’t it Yoon Se Hee?”, Chan replied.

“No, Number 5 is someone much more special, I want a puppet who can adapt quickly and ain’t easy to manipulate”

“Oh, I think all of them will be a hard contender,but yes we need to find someone who has a very strong will than the other”, Chan said.

“Well, let’s see Number 11 to know it’s traits”, I said.

“Yes, we might get an incredible one or a boring one”

“Stop and uncover the face of Number 11!”, I ordered

[Age : 33]

[Current Status : A crime/thiller author]

“Hmm, is he famous? If not then he is just a piece of trash in the trash bin”, I said.

“Let’s check his profile to know”, Chan said.

“Show his profile, Min Min”, I ordered/

“Reading Profile . . .”, Min Min responded.

[Do Kyun who goes by the name I.D.K is famous crime/thriller author- ], the automated voice stopped . . .

“What!??? I - D - K !?”, I was surprised that stood up my chair. “Maybe I am wrong, there’s a lot of authors who goes by the same pen name”, I said and sat back again.

“Do you know him?”, Chan asked.

“It’s nothing, I have a favorite author who goes by the name I.D.K, I thought it was him”, I answered.

“Let’s continue then”

“Go”, I said. Chan signaled Min Min.

[Do Kyun who goes by the name I.D.K is a famous crime/thriller author who sold 100 million copies in just one of his books. He is awarded “The best selling author of the century” at the 26th Lake Awards. He won various rewards in each of his books. He is known for his books including the crime/thriller novel “He lied to me and it was deep”, a horror/thriller novel “Who’s there” and survival / horror / thriller, “Remaining”. He is currently working on his upcoming novels.]

I was shocked that my mind became blank for a moment, “It is him”, I murmured.

Chan looked at me curious to know, “You do know him, what? You’re a fan of him”, he asked.

I stood up and raised my arms as I carry the cane up high, “Hxll, I am! His stories were intriguing and nerve-wracking! Mr. T recommended it, I read it until I wait for the preparation, I was able to have fun when I was reading his books. I never felt so excited over by reading a book”, I explained.

“I see, so he’s your favorite author ha? The author you just know a week ago”, Chan said.

“I can’t believe I am witnessing his face. How did you even find this photo of him? Never mind that, the important thing is I know his identity already. But You know what Chan?”

“Know what?”

“He is just like me, we avoid showing our appearance in public, we have a lot in common except for my large wealth of course. I know he is really smart on how he imagined as he writes his books was thoroughly exceptional!”, I was still excited.

“Hmm, so are you considering making him a puppet? He is your favorite author and you will play a game with him, will you select him or not?”, Chan asked.

“Of course I will select him, he is on par with skills I must say and I sticked on my principles in selection cerememony. Plus, I want to meet him and give me an autograph”, I smiled due to happiness.

“Remember, you can’t cut a puppet’s string if you don’t bring it down in the deep despair”, Chan reminded.

"Duh! I know, when I managed to get his string cut, I will give him a redemption I will make as my own personal writer, he will work for me and I will pay for him. That way he can live his life again", I explained.

"Are you freaking serious right now? A redemption?", he raised his right eyebrow, signed that he didn't agree with me.

"My rule, my game", I grinned and went back to my seat.

"Select him!", I ordered.

"Registering . . .",Min Min responded.

"Do Kyun had been registered as Puppet # 11, the Pegasus Puppet has been selected!", Min Min confirmed.

"Waah, Pegasus suits him because pegasus are know for their wide perception of the world, they see different dimensions and travel through them", I was fascinated.

"Nothing I can do about it. Without further a do, let's continue the selection", Chan said.

"OCHA! Three more numbers to fill up let's go!", I shouted ad I pointed my cane towards the big screen.

"Roll in the Next One!", I ordered.
