Kazmiyah stood in Aurora’s doorway, watching her with the half-lit cigarillo lazily between her lips while she meditated.
“What’s the matter?” Aurora asked just as Kazmiyah parted her lips to speak. Aurora turned around and looked at her friend. When she saw the seeming concern on her face, Aurora shifted her weight to better get a view of Kazmiyah. She hopped up and stood in front of Kaz. “Did something happen? Did-did Darvin come back?”
Kazmiyah felt bad that Aurora had been so concerned about this. So much so that she and her brother decided that they should stay there at least one more day to make sure that Darvin was actually gone. Even after Godfrey’s reassurance that Jeriko’s friend wouldn't be returning.
