Cruel Betrayal.
~~Aurora~~
Something was wrong.
I could tell the moment I pushed the heavy wooden door guarding my boyfriend’s cozy apartment; it gave way. Easily.
My pulse hammered in my ears as I put away the unused key in my hands and stepped inside. The dimly lit hallway smelled like whiskey, sandalwood, and musk cologne—Richard’s cologne.
A sick feeling twisted inside me with every click of my heels against the floor.
Richard was supposed to be at work. He doesn't return until 6pm. Which should have given me ample time to lay out his birthday surprise by the time he returns home...
The fingers around the box I’d picked up on my way shook as I took one cautious step after the other.
It contained a black lingerie, and custom-made cufflinks. As a strict virgin, Richard and I had never been intimate, but I was finally ready to break the ice. To give myself to him.
He’d been nothing short of sweet and the most romantic man I’d ever met, and despite his late distance from work stress, I was fully convinced that he was the right choice—
My thoughts drifted as I reached Richard’s bedroom door. My ears, twitching at the sound I must have imagined.
Without missing a heartbeat, I pushed the door wide open. And my world shattered.
The unmistakable sound of skin slapping against skin filled the air, followed by a breathless whimper. My stomach twisted, rage and humiliation crashing into me all at once.
I shouldn’t go inside. I should turn around and leave.
But I couldn’t.
I stepped closer, heart pounding against my ribs. My fingers trembled uncontrollably.
Richard was home at a time he shouldn’t have been.
With his muscular, naked body pressed against a woman; her hands gripping the sheets, back arching, and glistening with sweat as she moaned his name.
Her face lifted.
Bile rose in my throat. My entire vision blurred as the world turned red.
My step-sister, Ruby.
Ruby. Richard. Richard. Ruby.
I was floating and nothing in the whole damn world could erase that insane image from my head.
"Oh f**k! f**k! Rich…fuck me harder... please..."
Ruby moaned as she placed her hand over Richard's head to take more of her breast into her mouth.
Richard groaned as he thrust against her backside.
This time, he ran his fingers up to her big breasts, big enough, but firm enough that his palms could easily cup them. He started to squeeze her n*****s so hard, while keeping his other hand on her hip, thrusting hard and roughly.
Their bodies moved together in a sick, perfect rhythm. I couldn't move. Couldn't breathe.
She gasped, pushing herself against my boyfriend’s firm body as her body quivered with pleasure.
"Damn! This feels.... so damn good ahhh!" Richard grunted. "You are so f*****g tight..!" He landed a loud smack on her butt.
She grinded back, panting as he dived deeper into her p***y with each thrust. Her moanings turned into screams as her toes curled up, leaving her trembling and craving the force behind his movements.
Richard couldn’t hold back his moans either. Both of them, too lost in the waves of pleasure to even notice my presence.
With every thrust, Ruby's moans became louder.
“Oh, baby... Tell me... tell me you love me... more than that ugly b***h!”
A wave of nausea washed over me. "Ugly b***h?"
"f**k…Ruby... I love you! More than anyone…”
Each word was a shard of glass, piercing my heart.
I Love You.
More. Than. Anyone.
He said it. I'd never heard him say those words to me.
I watched as Ruby buried her face in the pillow, her face glowing with sweat and satisfaction, her moans softer, while Richard grunted and groaned like a wild animal.
"Richard?" My voice came out hoarse.
They froze. Scrambling away from each other at the same time.
"Aurora?" Richard's voice had a hint of shock in it, and guilt flashed across his face for a brief second, but he schooled his expression. "What are you doing here?"
I let out a bitter laugh. "What am I doing here?" My voice trembled with rage. "I should be asking you that, Richard. Or better yet—why the hell are you f*****g my step-sister?"
Ruby had the audacity to smirk. Tossing her long, dark curls over her shoulder. "Oh, come on, Aurora. Don't act so surprised."
My nails dug into my palms. "You disgusting—"
Richard stood, shamelessly naked, grabbing his pants from the floor. "It's not what it looks like."
I laughed again, but there was no humor in it. "Really? Because it looks exactly like you were screwing Ruby."
His jaw tightened, and he ran a hand through his messy hair. "You don’t understand..."
"I understand perfectly," I snapped. My voice cracked, but I refused to cry. I wouldn't give him that satisfaction. "You lied to me. You made me believe you loved me."
"Love?" Ruby scoffed, stretching lazily on the bed. "Sweetheart, Richard never loved you. You were just convenient."
As much as Ruby’s words hurt. Nothing hurt more than the fact that he didn’t deny it.
A humiliating pain twisted inside me, but I refused to break. I had wasted a year loving this man. A year believing in him.
Tears stung the corner of my eyes but I refused to let them fall. "I hope you two rot in hell."
Ruby’s laughter didn’t stop. It only grew louder.
"Who the hell is going to f**k you now, Aurora?" she taunted, her naked body still sprawled across the bed. "You’re just a pathetic little virgin! What man wants a girl who doesn’t even know how to please him? How to f**k him hard?"
My mouth tightened. I wanted to rip that smirk off her face.
Yet, Richard said nothing.
He just stood there, his toned, sweat-slicked chest rising and falling, sheets barely covering his lower body.
He wasn’t sorry. He wasn’t ashamed. He didn’t even care.
"Say something," I snapped, my voice shaking. "Say something, Richard. Damn it!"
Richard sighed, dragging a hand through his messy hair. "Aurora, just leave."
My entire body tensed. Just leave.
Ruby sat up, still smirking. "You really thought he was waiting for you? God, Aurora, you’re so damn naive. Richard is a man. And men have needs."
I swallowed hard, my nails digging into the box I didn’t realize I was still holding. Oh God. I’m such a fool.
"Did you ever even touch him?" Ruby went on, tilting her head mockingly. "Did you even let him see you naked?" She let out a low, cruel chuckle. "Of course not. You’re still a little girl, Sister. Never growing up.”
I turned to Richard. My voice barely above a whisper. “Is that why?" I asked. “Because I didn’t have s*x with you?"
Richard shifted on his feet. But that hesitation was enough.
“Wow," I let out a bitter laugh. "All those promises—"
"Don’t act like you didn’t know what this was," Richard cut in, walking towards me. His voice was lazy, almost bored. "You know what kind of man I am, Aurora."
I didn't blink. No. “I thought I did.”
Ruby scoffed. "Men don’t wait for little girls who are too scared to spread their legs, sister dearest."
That did it.
I lunged at her, my vision blurry with red-hot rage.
My fingers tangled in her hair, yanking hard as she let out a startled scream.
"You b***h!" she screamed, clawing at my arms.
"You think you’re better than me?" I hissed, my grip tightening. "You think sleeping with him makes you special?"
She struggled, kicking at me, but I didn’t let go. "You always wanted what was mine, Ruby. Always."
She let out a breathless laugh. "And I always got it, didn’t I?"
Something snapped in me. I raised my hand, about to slap her, but Richard’s strong arms wrapped around my waist, yanking me away.
"Enough!" he growled, turning his back protectively to shield Ruby as he glared down at me. “What the f**k is wrong with you?"
I struggled against him, my breath coming out in sharp pants. "Let me go!"
"Not until you calm down."
I wrenched myself free from his hold as my eyes burned with unshed tears.
"f**k you," I spat at him. "And f**k you too, Ruby."
Ruby just smiled, her perfect bow lips curling in triumph. "Jealousy looks good on you, sis," she said sweetly.
"But it won’t change anything. You’ll always be the little girl no man wants."
I stormed out of the room as Ruby continued to scream and slammed the door behind me.
The cold night air hit me the second I stepped outside, but it did nothing to cool the fire raging inside me.
It wasn’t sadness or self-pity like Ruby would have wanted. No. I was furious.
The little girl no man wants…
Ruby thought no man would want me?
She thought I was pathetic?
Fine.
I’d show her just how wrong she was.
