Aaron’s POV The Lacertian National Anthem is played by the military band to start off today’s campaign rally. My hand is splayed over my heart, my eyes unyieldingly fixed on our flag to my left. There are too many cameras here today for me to allow myself to look where my eyes are begging to wander. Across the stage, Mae stands like I do, hand over her heart, eyes on the flag. I noticed earlier that she’s wearing a purple dress for Lacertia, and it brings out her violet eyes.
