I’ve been anxious the past three days, knowing I would see Aaron again. But mostly, I’ve been looking forward to seeing my daughter. I step outside my apartment where Aaron’s Jaguar idles. Ruby’s little head peeks out the back seat window as she waves to me excitedly in the most adorable purple dress and white tights. Foregoing the front passenger seat next to Aaron, I slide in back next to Ruby, taking her small hand in mine as Aaron pulls away from the curb. I kiss my daughter on top of her head. “Happy Birthday, baby girl!” Ruby chatters happily about the play we’re going to see, saying how much she’s been looking forward to it. Aaron seems quieter up front, but it’s honestly nothing out of the norm. I note his classic black suit, tailored perfectly to his strong form. I push away
