The night was longer for Kayla, AKA Crystal; all she kept thinking about was her life and how she was going to retaliate against Keenan if she was married to Ashford, Keenan’s friend. All she wanted was for the earth to open up and bury her alive, but she had Bethany, and she had no choice but to be strong for her, despite asking, "Was all the training for nothing?"
Speaking of which, she hadn’t heard from Ethan since that day, and as she turned and tossed on her bed, she thought, "Maybe that was part of the moon goddess’s plan, but why put him in my way if she knew all along that I had a mate awaiting me at Moonstone Pack?"
