Dark and cold was the state I was in when I tried to open my eyes. My world was like an inflated balloon awaiting deflation, I couldn’t breathe properly and I was struggling to stay awake. My eyes snapped open, covered in a cold sweat, shaking and my heart was pounding so hard against my chest that I could hear it, panicked and breathing hard and for a second my body felt tense.
I looked around suspiciously and paranoid but nothing seemed familiar, I got up cautiously, shivering while looking around but everything made me even more confused, I rubbed my eyes and head just to be sure it wasn’t another nightmare but got even more confused.
