Lucy smiles and gives me a hug.
“Tell Anders not to worry about work, I have it under control,” she tells me.
“Thanks Lucy. Ben, you are, as always, a hero.” I smile at one of my best friends.
“Yeah, call me Sam, the hero next door.” Ben chuckles, referring to the Fireman Sam song.
I have never been so relieved as I was when Anders finally spoke with me. I knew something was happening, and it wasn’t good, when he texted that he loved me, instead of saying he hated me. Today had been a whole mess of emotions.
