Cain… I turn to him, he is looking at me in a way that makes me shiver. As if he wandered across the Sahara for months, and I am a life-giving drop of water.
His eyes travel through my body and then finally reaches my eyes.
“H-hi,” I say sheepishly.
“Hello, Stella.” He doesn’t even smile this time. Why is that? He always smiles when he is with me…
“W-what are you doing here?” I ask.
“Oh, I heard Elle was here and came to see her since I was nearby anyway. But she is nowhere around, but yet, here you are…”
“She met someone… Some guy named Jason and…”
“I see.” He chuckles and finally smiles. “That will be one long conversation, trust me.”
He walks to me and steps up the only stair. He is so close. Too close… He slowly turns me to face the mirror.
