"Scar, I’m sorry for putting you in this position."
"No need for apologies between us," Scarlet replied, her tone calm. "Focus on what you need to do—and how I can help. Keep me updated."
After hanging up, I knew Scarlet would be sleeping most of the day away. I didn’t understand her and Nathan’s relationship, but I suspect neither did they. Either way, I had my own toxic Alpha male to worry about.
