When I rushed out of my room at Desha's voice, finding her tackling Trevor to the ground in the kitchen was something I wouldn't have imagined in a thousand years. Then and there I knew my plans to keep the knowledge of his presence away from her was already out the window. I know my daughter and she most definitely asks questions if she believes something doesn't add up. She always has this knack of curbing her curiosity and that means providing answers. She wouldn't be Desha if she didn't insist on knowing who Trevor was the moment I walked into the kitchen and told her he wasn't a burglar.
I tried to play it off like he was some stranger I helped, but I should've known Desha was too smart to believe such, when she knows her mother isn't the type to make random friends. Sh
