Chapter 15

-Lilith P.O.V.-

3 years later…

“How is it that Xavier will go through his shift before me?” Hannah asks me.

“He took after me. I am not sure why he is will shift before you, but it is what is needed. You only have to wait one more year and then you will shift.”

“Will I be able to find my mate once I shift?” Xavier suddenly asks.

“Yes, but they will not know that you are their mate until they gain their wolf. You will need to keep this in mind.” I tell Xavier.

“I hope I get a demon as a mate.” Gavin blurts out. I sigh.

“You would son. You would.” Asmodeus says chuckling.

“What? I think I would far better with a demon.” Gavin says shrugging.

“You might get your wish, bro.” Elijah says.

“Why are we taking about mates? You all are too young to be talking about mates!” I say.

“My Queen, let them talk about who will steal their hearts.” Asmodeus says to me in a sweet voice.

“I hope my mate will be strong.” Mia says.

We all snap our head towards Mia as she just continues to stare at the tv. Hannah chuckles at her sister while Elijah and Aiden wear looks, I cannot decipher.

“YOU ARE TOO YOUNG TO BE TALKING ABOUT A MATE.” Asmodeus says with his voice raised.

“YEAH!” Gavin and Xavier say together. I shake my head.

Mia turns around looks her brothers and her dad up and down then just shrugs. As if she is telling them to get over it. I bust out laughing at my daughter fiery attitude. She may be weak, but she will fight you as if she was strong. She does not back down to anyone. Asmodeus scuffs in disbelief at the attitude his daughter is giving him while Gavin and Xavier just start blankly.

“Alright, Xavier, tonight you will need to be out in the woods for your first shift. It will help.” Xavier nods.

“Can Gavin be there with me?” Xavier asks.

“Yeah, can I be there mom?” Gavin interjects.

“Yes, you may be there Gavin.” Gavin smiles.

We ended up explaining to Gavin that he will not be shifting because we think he will not have a wolf. I thought he would be disappointed, but he was relived. He said he wanted to be more demon then wolf anyways. That is my Gavin. He is just like his father, I swear.

“Okay, it is getting closer to midnight. You and Gavin need to go into the woods. Do you want me or your dad to come with you?” I ask Xavier.

“No, all I want is for my brother to be there.” I nod respecting his decision.

-Xavier P.O.V.-

“Come on bro, lets go.” I tell Gavin.

“Are you ready?” Gavin asks me as we are walking out of the house towards the woods.

“I am. I can’t believe that I am shifting before Hannah.” I say chuckling.

“I know right? Our big sis is a little butthurt.” Gavin says laughing.

We chit-chat back and forth on our way to the woods. It doesn’t take long before we reached where we were supposed to be. I took off my shoes and shirt. I leave my basketball shorts on, not wanting to be completely naked. I then sit on the ground. Gavin just stands there and stares up at the night sky. I wanted him here with me because Gavin calms me, and I feel safe with my brother around.

All of sudden I feel it. I fall on my hands and yell out in pain. I can feel my claws growing and I can feel my bones breaking. “FU**KKKKKK!” I roar out in pain from feeling my bones break. I feel my body shifting and then I hear a voice.

“Let me in.” It says softly.

“Who are you???” I ask in my head.

“I am your wolf, Apollo. Let it go.”

I nod and then I feel Apollo taking over. I fully finish shifting. I shake and look up to see Gavin staring at me. I bark at him with my tongue hanging out the side of my mouth. He laughs and then walks up to me. Apollo let me have control back once I finished shifting. Gavin then runs his hand through my fur. I am a fully black wolf that is the size of an Alpha. I tower over Gavin. Apollo likes the fact that Gavin is affecting my wolf and my wolf form.

I then turn around and run towards the house. I have to show mom! Once I reach the house, I bark. Mom comes out of the house and I bark happily at her. She walks up to me and says, “Hello Apollo”. Of course, she would know who my wolf is. She is a very intelligent woman. I lay down on my paws and stare up at her. She walks up to me and pets me telling me how proud is she of me. Then my father walks out of the house.

“Holy sh*t, you are huge.” I laugh in my mind at my father’s comment. He is such a goof.

My mom sends him a glare making him chuckle. I hope I find a love like theirs. I hear footsteps behind me, and I can smell Gavin. I turn to look at him and he chuckles shaking his head because I left him behind.

“Shift back now.” My mom says in her Alpha voice.

My wolf obeys and I begin shifting back into my human form. It was not that painful as when I shifted into my wolf. My dad walks up and pulls a blanket over my naked human form. I wrap the blanket around me feeling exhausted.

“Come on, you need rest,” My mom says. My dad then walks up to me puts his arm underneath my arm holding me up. He helps in the house and lays me down on my bed. Damn I really am tired. Gavin walks in and gets ready for bed.

“I am glad that I am more demon then wolf because I could not go through that.” I laughed and then allowed sleep to overtake me.

I was awoken up to two faces smiling at me. Ugh, I groan.

“Get off of me.” I tell Elijah and Aiden.

“Tell us what it was like!” Elijah says.

“Yeah, I wanna know!” Aiden adds in. I chuckle.

“It hurt like a bi*ch.” I tell them.

They laugh and then run out of the room. They already know what it is like from all of the books that they read.

“I wonder what our mate is like.” Apollo says suddenly in my head.

“Already thinking of a mate??” I say back.

“Yeah! You know you want a mate like yesterday.” I laugh at what Apollo said.

He is right, but I made sure to tell him that we need to be careful because she won’t know until after her first shift. He agrees with me even though he didn’t want to. I wanted a mate because I want what my parents have. My mom is an incredible woman who has loved all of us through everything. My dad is a hard man, but he melts around my mom. That is the only person on this planet that can make him crumble. I may only be 14, but I feel like I am older. My mom told us that we are very mature for our age so that is normal.

I am pretty chill and laid-back dude, but I want my life to begin already. I know I must sound crazy, but it is just who I am. The one thing I am not ready for is for my brother to leave. I know he wants to live in the “human” world owning his own business. I am very close to my twin brother and I just don’t want to lose him. I am thrown out of thoughts when Hannah comes in our room. I was shocked she never enters our room.

“I am proud of you bro.” Hannah says then she pulls me into a hug. I was shocked. I hugged her back.

Hannah is difficult to read sometimes. I look over to see Gavin mouthing “What the f*ck” to me. I had to hold back my chuckle. He was just as shocked as I was. She pulls away and nods then walks out. I just sat there stunned, so did Gavin.

“Come on boys!” I hear our mom yell from the bottom of the stairs.

Gavin and I both jump and put clothes on. She had made breakfast and we LOVE her cooking. We barrel down the stairs and I pull my mom in a hug once we reach the bottom. She hugs me back and then I pull back and kiss her cheek.

“Well, I love you too, son.” She says. I chuckle. Normally Gavin is one hugging her and stuff. Gavin is closer to my mom then I am. I walk over to my dad and punch him the arm. He glares at me and I throw my head back laughing. I swear he does love me.
