She held the phone to her ear, as her name rang in her ears. She really had forgotten about him. Not literally, since he was the reason that her boss lashed out on her. But she didn't have him in mind.
Infact, she had completely forgotten that he had her number.
Of course he did, because she had given it to him the other day. But she hadn't expected him to call her, considering what had happened the last time they saw each other.
"Hi..wow, uhmm I didn't think it was you" She said as she scratched her forehead, realising that she shouldn't have said that, and now praying that he wouldn't ask who she thought it would be.
She would have to lie, since she cannot tell him that she is expecting a call from her boss whom she had resigned from his office but now is hoping that he is calling
