FALLING FOR BRUCE(BOOK 1)

CHAPTER FIVE

The exam week moved on swiftly and we soon finished our exams. Most of the girls were eager to go home and now that it was the end year exam we both looked forward to joining the next class God willing.

I was hoping to join form four be done with school and join college that was my only hope and wish. Since it was late October we were to close school and leave form hours behind to do their national exams at the beginning of the following month, which was November.

It was on closing day and we were doing our thorough cleaning on that Wednesday. I was the class prefect so I had to make the working list first and allocate my class members and my loony friend was around while I was making the list.

"You do know even if you allocate me that place I won't work right?" Ruby asked and I laughed while nodding

"Of course Ruby who doesn't know, you're just about to hear these girls complaining if how unfair I am, its because of you, it's always been" I said while still focused on the piece of paper on my desk.

"Well I need asked any of them not to become your bestie, homie, deskmate and a sister in crime that's what I got and I love you so much, anyway I'd like to help distribute the liquid soap after then we have a lot to do in our cubicle" she said and I smiled

"I know i***t, and by the way why are we doing this work when we have workers who can do that in a span of thirty minutes, sometimes I wonder with this school, our parents pay a lot of cash only for us to do work like slaves" I said wondering and complaining at the same time, I mean we paid almost 80k every term yet on every eve of closing school we always did those dirty thorough cleaning like the boarding mistress used to call it, with the kind of money we paid, we were to be treated like the queens we were but anyway like the say every school had got it's management

"Why are you complaining anyway?" Ruby asked and I faced up to look at her giving the 'really' Look

"You are asking why I'm complaining, are you happy with the way the school is treating us, by the way it's high time you talked to you aunt about this I'm sure she doesn't want to see her niece struggling with a hard brush scrubbing those highways towards the boarding section" I finished and Ruby laughed so hard that every girl in the class looked at our direction. "b***h what is funny or rather what is wrong with you, or let me frame the question this way, are you okay? Like upstairs?" I asked confused and that only worsened the situation.

Ruby laughed so hard that she almost fell from her locker. After about two minutes, she calmed down an looked at me and smiled. "What?" She asked me after I have her a long face

"You can't just tell me that why made you laugh was the statement I said last?" I asked whole ceasing my brows

"Yes, it is, and you know what's funny?"

"What?! Can you just go straight to the point and stop beating around the bush, you starting to get on my nerves already" I said looking bored and went back to making the list

"Exactly what I wanted, to piss you off,which I know you can't stay mad at me the whole day, like who will talk to you, abuse Stacy for you and beat the crap out her if not me? Huh? Me? Ruby Stone" she said while hitting her locker boastfully that I found myself smiling and laughing at the same time. "See? You can't stay mad at me forever you need me?"

"Okay oxygen, what made you laugh or rather,what were you laughing at?" I asked and she smiled

"The was you were complaining and whining about thorough cleaning,yet you are the class class prefect I mean you've been one since we joined, and you rarely do any manual work, or thorough cleaning for that matter, we don't do manual work the workers do and this one thorough cleaning is getting on your nerves like seriously, what do you do apart from attending those stupid prefects meeting in Alliance, Starehe, Pangani and all those national schools? Not to mention the special treatments you guys get from the principal, I haven't even mentioned about the allowances, the spacial meals and the special cubicles,you shouldn't be complaining" Ruby said as I called my hands sarcastically

"Wow Amen pastor, such a nice preaching, I learnt so much from you especially the verses, God bless you pastor Ruby" I said and she laughed.

"You are so dramatic Brianna Morton,very and what can I do without you?"

"Nothing b***h, as if you don't enjoy those special meals with me"

"You didn't have to shout dummy head" she said and I clapped,

"Hello everyone? Attention pleased,Ruby here shares my special meals with me, she's so dramatic"

"b***h!" She shouted and the whole class bursted

Ruby and I were always walking around in the school corridors, on the highway, in the basketball ball pitch, we were among the cheering squad, very dramatic and trouble makers, there was no one in school that never knew about us, they called us sisters, and we were, I admired our parent's relationship and so was ours she was just my ride or die.

After breakfast, I called the list and allocated every class member to where she was supposed to work and we headed to our cubicle.

We shared the cubicle with Ruby, she was not a prefect but with her aunt being the principal she was treated like one.

We had almost everything in our room and we sometimes prepared noodles and some coffee when it was cold, our life wasn't hard and we both had phones at school although it was not allowed but almost everyone came with her phone to school.

"I think I'm gonna call my mom now?" I said as I plopped myself on the bed

"You think? How were you planning to travel home anyways?" She asked

"I had plans with Ethan and now that we're no longer together I think I'll just call my mom, I know she'll not be busy or maybe she can send her driver to come pick me"

"I was about to ask you, my dad traveled and my mom is upcountry she asked if you can give me a ride home"

"Wow let me just call my mom immediately" I said excitedly"

After a few minutes of talking on phone with my mom I finally hang up

"What did she say? Ruby asked

"That she's held up but she'll send our driver over" I said while frowning

"And why are you frowning? I thought that's better"

"No I hate Hamish, he's overprotective and always commanding, he won't let us go to the mall he will just drive straight home" I said bored

"That's not an issue, we can reach home and later go to the mall, I also saw some nice Nike air max I wanted to buy them, how about that?" She asked and I smiled

"Sounds like a good plan, if the shoes are nice I'll take one pair,but was planning on buying a nice Summer skater dress" I said

"We shall see about that, you know how much I hate dresses but if you can change my mind why not?" She said and smiled.

We spent the rest of the day listening to music and cleaning up our room by the time the bell for assembly rang all was set and we had both showered and changed into weekend wear.

We walked towards the school hall while chatting happily, everyone looked happy and it was evident everyone was longing to go home for the December holidays.

After entering the hall, we chose the front seats which was always our norm, most of the teachers were around but the principal was yet to arrive, we settled down and waited for the go ahead. Some students were busy scrolling on their phones which was allowed because it was on the even if closing school, I mean, it was a private school so we always did what we wanted.
