Marlie’s POV
I woke up sick, which was terrible on top of everything else going on. I splashed my face with cool water hoping it would make my nausea go away, but it didn't help much. I curled up in a ball on the bathroom floor and let the tears flood out, not even fully sure why I was crying. I guess it was just a lot of things happening at once, and after burying them all deep inside, my body had to release the pressure of it all somehow.
I'm not sure how long I sat there letting the sobs shake my body until all the tears dried up. The path from where the tears traveled down my face left salty stains as I picked myself up off the ground and looked in the mirror at my puffy eyes.
