The stood still in the elevator as it descended to the lobby. My mind was racing as I mentally prepared for another day at the office—another day of trying to balance everything that seemed to constantly be spinning out of control. The situation with Mason had not become any clearer. I hadn’t seen him since our phone conversation last night. And even though his words lingered in my mind, I wasn’t sure whether I was ready to trust them.
