Kiana’s POV
The day Beth was coming back from London had arrived, and I could feel the excitement building inside me. I hadn’t seen her in months, and despite everything that had happened in my life recently, I missed her more than I had expected. She had always been my rock, the one person who understood me like no one else could. And now, after all this time apart, I could hardly wait to see her again.
I stood in the kitchen of my apartment, staring out the window as the morning light spilled over the city. A mixture of nerves and anticipation buzzed in my chest. It felt like everything had changed since Beth left for London.
The sound of my phone vibrating against the counter pulled me from my thoughts. It was Beth.
“I’m here! Can’t wait to see you. Meet me at the café?”
