Kiana's POV I stood by the window, staring out at the vast expanse of the land my father had once ruled. The wind was cold against the glass, sending ripples through the trees that lined the perimeter of the pack’s territory. The world outside seemed so different now. I could barely recognize it, and maybe it was because I no longer recognized myself. The memories of my childhood, of my parents, had become fragmented and distorted. I wasn’t sure when everything had started to unravel, but I knew it was tied to my father’s death. He had been taken from us too soon—his life stolen in a senseless war. My father, Alpha Nathaniel, had been the leader of this pack. He had been a man of strength, of power, but more than that, he had been my protector. Or at least, that’s what I used to believe.
