Most people left a couple hours later, giving me the time to relax in my own home. James had left, taking Mia home with him, and the only people here were Chris and Ellie. We sat down on the couch, and Ellie turned to face me.
"I haven't had the chance to thank you for getting me out of trouble at school." she said, her light brown eyes sparkling as she tucked a piece of hair behind her ear.
"No problem. I had to do something." I responded, and she smiled sweetly.
"How's your shoulder?" she asked. I shrugged.
"It hurts, but I'm glad it wasn't damaged further." I responded, and she nodded in understanding. Chris left to get snacks from the kitchen.
"Can I ask you something?" she asked shyly. I nodded.
