I watched through Jet’s eyes as the barrier around Stella, Savannah, and Marcus kept us from hearing anything. I’m not sure what kind of plan Savannah had up her sleeve, but I had to trust that she could handle this, and if not, she would find some way to warn me before lowering the veil.
Priya and some of Andrew’s wolves were with us. They were far from battle-ready, but sometimes the best training was throwing someone right into it. It wasn’t how I was raised, but it would have to do for now until Andrew got here with more troops. We would have to find a way to wait it out until then.
