I was sitting down on the balcony swing looking at Nayvee play on the blanket on the floor. Austin went out to go buy something for Nayvee because she has been sick for the past two days.
I hear Nayvee cough and she looks up at me with her sad eyes. Her face is all red and her nose is running. My poor baby. I lean over and pick her up and bounce her on my knee. I hear my phone go off and start singing the ringtone for Destiney.
"Hello?"
"OH MY GOD!!" Destiney says excitedly.
I pull the phone away from my ear. I look down at Nayvee and she looks back at me weirdly.
"Auntie Destiney is weird," I say in a baby voice.
She giggles and sticks her hand in her mouth. I put the phone back to my ear and take a deep breath. Please, Lord! Tell me that she settled down.
