The sun was starting to set as they rode along the path. They knew it would take some time to reach the lord of Astrinia and they wanted to be well rested when they did. That's why Cassius announced “Set up camp” to the group and obeying his command they dismounted their horses, tied them with some slack while feeding and watering them. They set up their campsite a few paces off the road.
“Carillion, will you and Vita collect enough firewood for tonight?” Clover asked. She hadn't felt comfortable giving commands, though it was her right. They were her friends, her found family. They nodded and stalked off to gather the requested items while Talon scouted the perimeter with Sirius. The owl hooted at her as he took off to search the skies around them.
