Xavier's eyebrows furrowed in surprise, and he glanced at Aaron. "Are you suggesting that Anna is your mate?" he asked, his voice tinged with skepticism.
Aaron nodded solemnly. "Yes, Anna is my mate. And I have come to take her back to the Moonshadow pack where she belongs."
Xavier turned his attention back to me, his eyes searching for an explanation. "Is this true, Anna? Why didn't you inform me that you had a mate?" he asked.
"I... I," I began, trying to gather my thoughts and come up with a plausible response. But before I could continue, Aaron spoke up, taking the opportunity to offer an explanation on my behalf.
"We met through some strange circumstances," he said. "It was an unexpected encounter, and maybe she did not get the opportunity to tell you about it."
