The rumble of bikes made me tense, but I moved closer to the window to see who was leaving.
Ever since earlier, I have locked myself in my room. I needed to stay out of my father's and everyone’s way.
Looking through the window, I spotted the men that my father and Mace, who were meant to go on the ride with and all of them were revving up to leave, except Dagger.
Dagger was one of my father’s best friends back in the day, but for the last few years he had been distant and hasn’t been around the house much, only the club. Only when he is needed.
I watched Dagger step back from the others and watch them all ride away to get to the shipment they were stealing from the Sinners.
Would it be so bad if they got caught?
Sounds harsh in my head since they were my family, but after everything I have been through, why shouldn’t I feel like this? It was all because of them.
Shaking my thoughts away, I looked around the courtyard of the club and noticed no one else was around. It was time for me to leave.
Turning away from the window, I looked at my bed. While they were in their bedrooms and getting themselves ready, I had everything I needed to take with me to my uncles placed on the bed. There wasn’t much since I didn’t have much. Some clothes that were fresh and my money, with my other diary with papers in it, I had scanned earlier in the office.
The one my brother took was still back in the clubhouse and that will be where it stayed. There was no point in getting it. Too many people have seen or even read through it by now.
A shudder rippled through me at the thought. They didn’t even have my deepest, darkest secrets, only the ones that would make me blush or embarrassed. Even though my brother read it out, my heartbreak was real. I knew it would happen at some point. No one would read a loved one’s diary, not unless they are cruel, like my family and some of the brothers here are to me.
Over the years, I overheard stories about parents reading someone’s diary in school and that they told their friends that they had another one in a place no one would dream of looking at. When I heard that, I knew I had to do something similar, especially when it came to the bikers and club girls. If it wasn’t my brother, it could have been anyone of them.
I was never a biker princess, not here at least. The only time people did that sort of care was when my uncle came to visit. It was something they liked to do, show off they were the best when my uncle was around, but when my uncle left, everything would go back to normal, while leaving me to defend myself.
Taking a breath, I walked over to my bed and placed everything in my worn bag, such as clothes, money, the documents I had found on my father's desk, and not to forget my photos of my childhood from when I was a baby and even my favourite toy and book. They all that I had left of what my mother left me. There was no point in taking anything else. I had nothing to my name, or anything that was mine.
Once I was packed, I placed my bag on my shoulder and headed back to the window again. Still, no one was around, only Lark if he was doing his nightly duties.
Taking a moment to look back around my room and to make sure I had everything that I needed. Knowing I was ready, there was a knot in my stomach, wondering if I was doing the right thing, but by second guessing myself, I shook my head and knew I was.
No one should be treated like this, not even me and I wanted out of this life. Or at least have one that I wanted. It would be nice to make friends or at least have someone who had my back.
Moving away from the window, I headed out the door and straight down the stairs till I reached the first floor. Looking around, I made sure no one was around and, judging on how quiet it was in the house, no one was.
Knowing people could come any moment, I headed out the front door and went to the first car I saw to hide behind.
As soon as I got to the car, someone opened the door to the club, which made me duck down and look around the side, only to see Dagger moving toward the house.
Keeping my eyes on him, I watched him walk to the house and head inside.
This was my chance. There was no way I could go back in there. He would tell my father he had seen me and there would be hell to pay. More like I would suffer at his hands.
Keeping low, I crouched down and moved toward the gates. I stopped to look and noticed one gate was ajar to the side, which meant someone was either outside or coming in.
Moving closer to the door, I was about to move when I heard voices, which made me step back and stay in the shadows, which is where I would normally be if I was trying to keep a low profile.
The voices grew louder till they were on the other side of the door. “Come on, baby. The boss doesn’t want me to have anyone here, I need—” Lark said, only to stop when I heard what all I could say was slurping sounds.
Pulling a face, I knew I had to get out of here before he shut the door. I tried to step closer, only the door went back and nearly hit me. I caught hold of it and placed my hand over my mouth, while he groaned against whoever he was with.
“f**k, baby,” he moaned. “Get in that damn f*****g room so I can see how pretty you are on your knees.”
Fuck, I was going to be sick.
Surely, no women would stoop so low to be like that.
More kissing sounds came, but then a female voice came which made me tense. “I will have all your c*m, baby. But you need to f**k me before I leave.”
That voice I knew all too well—my history teacher, Miss Haycock.
No woman was safe when it came to this club, not even my teachers.
Movement was made, and I heard them leave, which made me look over the side of the door to see them kiss while Lark guided my teacher into the little office and closed the door.
Once the door was closed, I moved quickly and stepped outside onto the street. I needed to move fast, which is what I did.
Without even looking back, I headed straight to the bus station which was located near my school and kept my head down.
There weren’t many people around since it was now dark outside, and most people would be either out at clubs or even at home sleeping.
It didn’t take me too long to get to the bus station. Keeping my head down, I asked for the ticket to my uncle’s town, which wasn’t much consideration, and headed straight to the platform I needed to be on.
When I got there, the bus turned up as I was about to sit down. I don’t know if it was luck, or something, but I was grateful it came when it did.
Getting on, I handed my ticket over and headed toward the back of the bus, while keeping my head down. I wasn’t planning on looking up till I was out of the town and that happened twenty minutes later, which was when I let go of the breath I had been holding.
The moment we left, my stomach was turning. Wondering whether anyone had noticed I had left, or did they notice and contacted my father. The mere thought of either one happening was laughable, which was so sad to even think about.
Leaning back in my seat, I let my eyes flutter shut since I had a long way to go, and I needed to rest before I spoke to my uncle.
All I had to be concerned about was whether he would believe me or not. That would be the unanswered question till I got to him.
