“I found out this morning on Friday she fell asleep in her language arts class. It was first thing in the morning, so the teacher offered her a breakfast bar and didn’t think nothing more of it. This morning though she fell asleep in math class. She was snoring, Briar. Loud.”
She exhaled puffing out her cheeks. “I’ll talk with her father. He’s been keeping her out a bit late in the evenings. They are getting to know each other, and I had hoped the novelty would wear off, but we can’t have her sleeping in class.”
“She also,” Saundra cleared her throat, “got an F on her science test.”
“What?” Now she was sitting up straight. “She told me they studied for it at his place on the weekend. She got an F?”
“Yes.”
“Can you scan and email me the test? I have a feeling she won’t bring it home to
