My moments with my mom were disrupted by a gentle knock by the door. It opened to reveal a young nurse in white uniform, a hesitant look on her face. I lowered my eyes to my dad who's being pushed forward with his wheelchair.
He was scowling but that hard look on his face failed to hide the weariness. Strong force tugged at my heart. I've never seen my dad like this. He's always looking tough and strong. Healthy. The plain white hospital gown showed his vulnerability. No longer the intimidating person I know all my life. In a span of hours, my dad has become a completely different person.
I never knew seeing how old my parents have become will also break me. The times are running so fast I'm barely able to keep up.
