He was a dumb, stupid rabbit. Looking up at me with that challenge in his eyes like he didn’t know what he was walking into. The ache in my gut barely registered. I’d bleed later. Heal later. Didn’t matter.
He had been shaking like a leaf, tending to me like I hadn’t threatened his life over and over. And now he looked at me like…like he wanted it. f**k. That hit me harder than I expected.
I pressed him harder against the wall, hands caging him in. Nowhere to hide. Nowhere to run.
I dragged my thumb along his bottom lip. Blue eyes wide like he actually enjoyed it. That shouldn’t have done anything, but it did. f*****g hell, it did.
