Lestor woke up slowly, the bed still felt warm and very comfy, the sense of safety welcome after the horror of what they had undergone, hunting down the Hibernians, desperate to save his brother… He deliberately thrust away all memory of what had occurred to lie loose limbed and sleepy beneath the thick covers. It took several moments for him to realize that the warmth he held in his arms was a pillow and not his wife. That made his sleepiness vanish in an instant as he rose to an elbow to look around, still somewhat befuddled. There was no sign of Lucia. He listened intently, but no sound came from the other rooms either, although maybe his little mate was reading. He smiled softly.
