She flinched when I said Arlo’s name, the fear inside her was loud enough that I could feel it through the bond and I wanted nothing more than to find that piece of stale string cheese and split him into a million pieces. I tried as hard as I could to hold back my shaking, my hands cupping her cheeks as she stared up at me. It had been weeks since I was this close to her, since she looked at me like this, and I felt like crying along with her. I wasn’t sure if I’d get to do this again, but as she tilted her head to the side and gently brushed her cheek against the palm of my hand with a sigh, I sighed along with her, entranced with the electric tingles that were racing through me. ‘I want to ask her wha
