Almost immediately, he had his hand raised in between us, as if expecting me to give him my hand for him to kiss in greeting, but I didn’t want to touch him. Every time he touched me I started to doubt everything and I didn’t want to doubt anything, not anymore. I never wanted to doubt Cain ever again. “I need to talk to you, Duke Arlo,” I said stiffly, formally.
