I was staring at the ceiling, trying to regain my normal breathing while lying in bed. I closed my eyes, trying to calm myself, but my eyes opened suddenly when I felt a sharp pain. I sat up, and just as I began to think about what it could be, the sharp pain struck again, followed by a third wave after a few seconds. I was on the verge of screaming for help, but as the pain subsided, what lingered was a profound sadness.
